    Parents / Guardians:

    Montessori Blenheim Policies:

    • Montessori Blenheim has a number of policies and procedures that are in place for the care and education of the children who attend. We strongly encourage you to read these and further information in our Whānau Handbook.
    • Montessori Philosophy does not cater for casual attendance and it is the school’s policy that children attend a minimum of 4 full days per week. All enrolled days are charged for whether the child attends or not, including public holidays.
    • The enrolment is inclusive of school term breaks.  Fees will not be charged during centre closures or if your child is excluded from attending at the discretion of the centre.
    • Fees: From 1 January 2025, Montessori Blenheim charges $9.50 per hour. We offer 20ECE hours for children over 3 years and have a $3 an hour optional charge on top of these hours which  enables us to have an additional teacher, above the Ministry of Education requirements.  Fees are indicative and subject to change. Final fees will be confirmed in the Enrolment Agreement.
    • I understand Montessori Blenheim offers an optional charge as outlined above. Final agreement will be confirmed in the Enrolment Agreement.

    Further Information:

    Enrolment Procedure:

    • Expression of interest -  In order to be considered for enrolment, parents complete an Expression of Interest form for each child.
    • Parent visit - During this visit without the child, parents / caregivers are shown through our centre with limited adult presence in the children’s spaces. They will have an opportunity to discuss and ask questions around the Montessori philosophy and the care and education that Montessori Blenheim provides.
    • Child visit - If an enrolment place is available close to your child’s third birthday, we will invite you and your child to come in for an interview. This interview is a time for introductions, to get to know your child and whānau and to ask and answer questions. It is also an opportunity for Montessori Blenheim to assess whether your child is ready to join our learning community. Please note that an interview is not a guarantee of a place at Montessori Blenheim and some enrolment criteria apply.
    • Montessori Blenheim Whānau Handbook given with Enrolment Pack.
    • Enrolment information received and Enrolment Fee paid.
    • An offer of placement will be emailed with start date and agreed times and days.  Entry into Montessori Blenheim is ideally as a child turns three years of age. Admission is at the discretion of Montessori Blenheim as a vacancy becomes available.
    • Transition visits - will be organised one week prior to start date. Two thirty minute visits are generally appropriate. Parents/caregivers are encouraged not to remain at Montessori for the duration of the visits. Your child will be given one-on-one presentations in Practical Life with fundamental activities. They will be shown where to find the wharepaku and access drinking water. Brief discussions may take place with parents / caregivers upon their return.
